I have 3 rabbits in my city apartment this moment. Meat rabbits, no pet rabbits. Well… I hope that they will be meat rabbits and no pet rabbits.

I will take them in plot after 2 days and I hope the big one is already pregnant. They are not some particular type of rabbit, we call them local rabbits.

I must make space for the rabbits in plot. And for chickens also. We never had farm animals in plot so we must start from the beginning.

All these days I watch all the time YouTube videos about the chicken/rabbit killing process. I am not sure I will do it some day but I must do it because I want them for food.

I am writing this as the sun rises early in the morning. Sun… well we have sun the last 2 days but the March was cloudy with rain. I was waiting 12 days to see the sun because we had a very big cloud in the Greek sky.

And when the big cloud gone…. I check the weather forecast and the sky was clean with sunny warm days. And I decide that it’s time to go to my farm/plot/whatever (well until now I don’t know which is the right english word )

So… I will go there on Monday and now I try to prepare anything I need to take with me. I also talk in phone with one man who has tractor because I want him to plough my land.

But…. the weather forecast change today…

Rain  and clouds come again from Italy….

This is not good. I want to plough the land and prune my trees and plant my potatoes and onions. I have months to go there and I have no idea if we have windows anymore  because winter is a difficult season with many thieves or poor illegal immigrants around.

Except that my tomato seedlings here die day after day without sun. I sow again most of them and I hope to save some seedlings for early plant.

As I was said before we work in plot by hand traditional tools only. This is not easy because the plot is big and the weeds many every year. Usually we can’t clean all the area by hands so we clean only a small area around the vegetable garden and house.

We don’t have electricity in plot so the only power tools we can buy are the tools which work with gasoline. Usually these tools are more expensive than the tools which work with electricity. (Ehmmmmm and gasoline is not so cheap in Greece anymore, I think we have the most expensive gasoline in Europe now)

It was not something I had in my mind to write about but I read this question in my stats and I think that is important to write a post about this.

The answer is no. No we don’t have genetically modified tomatoes in Greece. We have many tomato hybrids but not GM.

To be correct I will give you a link from Greek Greenpeace. You can translate it easily with google translate if you want.

As they wrote in their post, they found some experimental cultivation of GM tomatoes in Greece in 1997 and they start a campaign to stop it.

It’s so funny but when I come back to city from plot the weather change and we have a hot summer weather.  The days you can’t do anything, you just sit on a chair and swelter.

When I was in plot the sea was near but the weather was cold and rainy. Someone laugh with me…

I have many news for the plot but I can’t write about those news now, I must wait some months to see the outcome.  The news are good so far.
