Gardening Account

published on May 20, 2010 | Category: Gardening 15 Comments »

Some gardeners used to keep a harvest account every year. It’s good idea if you want to know what your garden gives you except of pleasure and excercise. You can make it easily in paper or in one excel sheet or in a blog post.

I don’t keep my harvesting records until now because I don’t have a scale to weight my harvest. I must buy one. But I used to keep an account for my gardening expenses.

Seeds

I want to save my seeds for the basic vegetables so in future I will not have seed expenses. I make the start with tomatoes but I collect many other seeds like eruca sativa (rocket) or basil. This year I will try to grow a local heirloom corn which can survive without watering.

Trees

I lost 2 trees last year, I plant 3 this year until now. I also want to plant 6 grapes, I plant the first this month.

Manure

Well… I can’t find free manure in the area and my soil need a lot. I buy sacks for 3 euro each one when I plant my trees or vegetables. To be honest I need to buy 2-3 truck with manure if I find somewhere near.

Tools

I have the basic hand tools but I must buy some expensive tools which work with gasoline if I want to clean my plot from weeds easily.

I think it’s good to keep a gardening account. The result may surprise you. Do you keep a gardening account?

I am having the same trouble as delores. I did not sign up for anything, and now am getting a bill. It states to go to this web site to cancel membership

  6. GaiasHope

cindy I have no idea… I don’t send any bill and I don’t have memberships here, ignore it.

  7. I keep regular gardening expense sheets, but only use them for something to read when I’m crying myself to sleep every night ;-)

    Love the article

I just received a bill for the chief pierre pattisserie. I already sent it back. This is the second time you have done this. I don`t care if I ever get another one of your magazines or calanders again. Take me off your mailing list for everything. I`m tired of having to contact you about your errors in billing me. I don`t owe you anything.

Can you please tell me the email address from those emails?

I don’t send anything. I don’t have magazines. I don’t have mailing list. Someone else send you all these stuff and not me.

I am trying to find what happen with these “bills”
I found this http://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/c/3245/ and continue the search.

I really don’t have relation with any email which ask you money. I don’t send bills. So… don’t send money anywhere…. probably itis scam

I am having problems with The National Home Gardening Club. I wonder if you have any more information on them. I am planning on doing a web site that will include names, email names, and phone numbers to help other people hurt by their scams.

    I have no idea!
The only thing I know is that someone send people here to cancel the membership as you can see from the comments

I was reading up on National Home Gardening Club and stumbled over your post somewhere else. I can’t believe how many people actually think your blog has ANYTHING to do with them? What is wrong with people, not only to come here and demand their money back, but also the scam people? Come on people, this is just someone enjoying their gardening and sharing information. Do some research on your own and not just follow those blind instructions from people that ripped you off.
I’m sorry for this mess you are in :( Glad I looked around first before I signed up for any Club membership!

  14. I also received a bill yesterday, saying I owe 12 dollars for 12 month membership to National Home Gardening Club. I did not know that when I put my name and address in for free packet of seeds and a chance to win gardening tools, that I would be billed 12 dollars for this membership club in order to get the free seed packet! Any suggestions as to why this happened? I cannot afford to pay 12 dollars and would like my name removed from your list altogether! Thank you.

Same here. I only gave my address to receive a free sample of a magazine. Did not get the magazine but a bill of $ 12.
First should the sample magazine come and then the choice to be a member or not! Please delete me, I am NOT interested. Thanks
