I sowed these seeds late, the first days of June. I didn’t expect to see tomatoes, but I wanted to see the plants grow. Later I had problem with my half plants and I thought I lost all Yellow Pear plants but I make wrong.

Later this plant start have problem in the leaves. The leaves start blight and every day I cut some leaves from the plant. Now the plant have leaves only in the top part but it also start have new leaves at bottom this week. It’s a funny plant if you see it, because it’s 1,5 m high (about 4.5 feet) but without leaves in his stem.

I had many flowers but only 1 tomato. I was afraid that I will lost it when the leaves start blight, but at the end my tomato took the beautiful yellow color. The size of this small tomato is 2.5cm X 1.3cm

Yellow Pear cherry bell tomato is a heirloom inteterminate tomato and some people write that mature in 75 days. I needed 90 days for this first tomato. They also write that wants 18 -35 C and we have good days here until Octomber. I don’t think that this plant will give me other tomatoes because it had the problem in leaves, but I have other 2 Yellow Pear tomato plants now.

From other tomato plants, I had many flowers the last month but only 2 small tomatoes growing now.

Next year I will sow this variery again but I will sow it the right season. This year I received late my seeds from UK, so it was one experimental year.

This year I add only broken eggshells in my containers, nothing else. Next year I will search to buy some manure also.

  1. It’s a beautiful little tomato. I’ve never seen a pear-shaped one before. What does it taste like? I hope you get many more next year!

  2. I’ve never seen not only pear-shaped but neither yellow tomato before. This is the first yellow and yes it’s beautiful.

Today I searched in web to see if the size was normal or not, because I didn’t knew it’s so tiny tomato.
I am not good to describe the taste, it taste like tomato :P

  3. I’ve grown yellow ones before but I’ve never seen one that shape It really does look like a pear.Lovely.

  4. I found your thessaloniki tomato seeds but they were red and not pear shaped. I have been to Greece and understand how hard it is to grow there. I will keep searching. If you would still like to have these seeds please let me know and i will get them and send them to you.

  5. @easygardener it’s my first uknown tomato variety. I think the next years I will have many surprises in my containers. I feel that I must see as many varieties I can. All my life I knew only the red tomatoes

@Ronald Shankel the post for Thessaloniki tomato variety is different from this one. “Thessaloniki” variety is red tomato.
But what you mean with “I have been to Greece and understand how hard it is to grow there”. In Greece we grow many tomatoes, we eat tomatoes every day here, but we have only red tomatoes.
If you are from Europe I will be happy if you find the seeds I want

  6. That’s very cool looking tomato.
