Spring is late this year
We have spring, it’s official. We are all happy and we work more in our gardens. We sow, we plant, we plan, we wait our seedlings and plants to grow. We are like bees in flowers these days and we have more topics to write in our gardening blogs.

But I think the spring is late this year. Well ok, I can talk only for my area in my mediterranean country and I know many of you you’ll be think I am thanklessness and nag because I live in a warm country with sun most days of the year.
The truth is that I am a child of spring, I was born in spring and I love the spring. Usually I wait the sunny days and the good weather of spring with impatience. The summer it’s different, it has too hot for me, I don’t like it as I like the beautiful sunny spring.

These days I try to organize my photographs from 2008 and I found some photos from the first day of spring in 2008. Our linden trees were full of leaves and I had many colorful flowers in my containers. My jasmine it was gemmate and now it has nothing than leaves.

So, as you can understand my first thought it was that spring is late this year. I think we lost at least one month of good spring weather but we had many rainy days and we also need these water from rain here.
What happen in your area? Is it the same as last year or not?
Yes, spring is certainly late here in the Languedoc too. A lot of flowering plants and trees are about three weeks later than normal, I would say – apricot, almond, mimosa, daffodils, anemones. We’ve had warm weather for the last week or so and I think everything will begin to catch up now. But it has been a very long cold winter (comparatively) – I know people in northern climates think we’re lucky, though, even so! Spring is my favourite time too (maybe because I was born in spring as well) – between the spring equinox and the summer solstice is when I feel happiest. The days are getting longer, plants are starting to grow, the temperature is getting warmer … perfect!
@chaiselongue it seems we have the same delay.
This moment it’s night and we have 4 Celcious. This is to low for the end of March in Greece. It has cold and rain here. We also had snow in some cities in North Greece. I hope the next week will be warmer with more sun
