First tomatoes for 2010

And finally we have tomatoes in my city garden. They are so small and I have no idea about the variety this moment. I will know the variety when they ripen.

Celery seedlings

Last year I plant some celery roots, this year I had traditional organic celery seeds from a  seed bank so I start my seeds and I have some seedlings.

I must cut some of them or transplant them in other pots because they are so many celery seedlings in this flowerpot now.

Rosemary

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is one aromatic Mediterranean plant that can reach one meter in height. It is self-sown evergreen plant in my country, but also cultivated in parks, gardens and in pots of balconies.

It belongs to the wider family of Lamiaceae with the lavender, the oregano, thyme, mint and marjoram. Rosemary blooms in spring and summer and the tiny blue flowers attract bees so is considered as excellent apiculture plant.

The first tiny tomato of 2009

Ok it’s official! I just found the first baby-tomato of the year and I have a big smile in my face.

The winner tomato plant is the heirloom variety “Bloody Red Butcher” and I grow it in a big container in my balcony.
