Oh yes, It’s true. Finally I can go to my plot.

It’s 1.45 a.m now and I can’t sleep. We’ll escape from the city in 4-5 hours. The plot is 100km from here, we don’t have electricity and we collect water from the rain in a big water tower. I hope that the water tower is full again, because the last 2-3 days we had rainy weather. I will have with me, many pumpkin and melon seedlings to plant.

We have so much work to do there, beside the weed war. But if the weather change, I will go to the sea also.

In the plot we have wild origanum everywhere. It’s the best variety I know in my country. I don’t know if my tomato and pepper plants survived, because nobody watered the plants for a month, just the rain. And we didn’t had so much rain in May. But i hope that I can harvest many fruits from my trees.

I search my photos for this post and found the photo with fennel (Foeniculum vulgare). We have wild fennel in the plot and I think I will make tiny pies with fennel and feta cheese in frying pan for breakfast. My mother’s family used to eat fennel with eggs, but I saw those pies in Crete.

Fennel was not known edible plant for all people here, I don’t know why. It seems funny to me, because the last 2-3 years people start eat fennel bulbs cause the international recipes and gourmet.
