The answer is no. No we don’t have genetically modified tomatoes in Greece. We have many tomato hybrids but not GM.
To be correct I will give you a link from Greek Greenpeace. You can translate it easily with google translate if you want.
As they wrote in their post, they found some experimental cultivation of GM tomatoes in Greece in 1997 and they start a campaign to stop it.

I grow my first corn this year and I am very happy about this because it’s a special corn. My corn is a greek traditional variety and I found 8 corn kernels from a local small organization.
I gave 2 corn kernels in a neighbor and I have sown the 6 of them. I have sown the seeds in small containers because I wanted to save time. Now I have 4 corn plants and I will go to the plot next week to transplant them.

It’s a very good day today. I feel great and I love my country very very much. One month before I was angry, very angry because I had read one article in newspaper about GM corn seeds from Monsanto.
European Union wanted to stop the GM corn seeds ban of Greece and France. We don’t want to allow genetically modified corn seeds from US and Monsanto here and it will be horrible if EU force us to accept those Monsanto seeds.
So, do you want to know what happen? Nine of the 27 European Union nations supported the commission call for the ban to be lifted while 16 opposed it or abstained.
Monsanto’s MON810 strain is the only genetically modified crop approved in the European Union but it’s not approved in my country. We don’t want it here. Many thanks for the support. Say NO to Monsanto GM seeds.
