Something happen these days in Haiti. After the strong earthquake Monsanto decide to make a “gift” to Haitian Farmers. They decide to donate more than $4 million worth of conventional corn and vegetable seeds and as they said “The Haitian Ministry of Agriculture approved our donation and ensured the seed selected was appropriate for the growing conditions and farmer practices in Haiti”.

But now something happen in Haiti. The MPP (Peasant Movement of Papay) has committed to burning Monsanto’s seeds, and has called for a march to protest the corporation’s presence in Haiti on June 4, for World Environment Day.

These news republished in many sites until now (google it) and people wait to see what the Haitian Farmers will do.

If they burn these seeds they must find another seeds. If they keep these seeds it will be catastrophe for these poor people.

Monsanto told them that the seed are not GMO but they are hybrids. As all we know Monsanto hybrids needs expensive and  toxic pesticides. Haitian Farmers this moment need heirloom, traditional seeds and not hybrids. They must save their seeds and not buy seeds from Monsanto every year. Hey people! Haitian people don’t have money they eat cookies with soil there!
